Privacy Policy
Visitour built the Light Horse Park and Ravenshoe apps as free applications. This Service is provided by Visitour at no cost and is intended for use as is.
This page explains our policies regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of Personal Information for users of our Service.
By using our Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy. The Personal Information we collect is used to provide and improve the Service. We do not use or share your information except as described in this Privacy Policy.
Unless otherwise defined here, terms used in this Privacy Policy have the same meanings as in our Terms and Conditions.
Information Collection and Use
The primary function of this app is to notify you when you are near a Point of Interest. To do this, the app uses your device's location. This processing occurs entirely on your device. We do not collect, transmit, or store your location data. The app also uses Firebase, a third-party service provided by Google, for crash reporting and analytics. Firebase may collect certain diagnostic information as described in the Log Data section below. Please refer to Google's privacy policy for details on how Firebase handles this data.
The app may also use third-party services that collect information used to identify you.
Third-party service providers used by the app:
Location
This app requests access to your device's location solely to determine when you are near a Point of Interest (POI) and to deliver a local notification to your device. Location data is processed entirely on your device and is never transmitted to, collected by, or stored on our servers. We do not track your movements, build location histories, or share your location with any third party. You will be prompted to grant location permission when you first use the app. You may choose "While Using the App" or "Always" depending on whether you wish to receive notifications when the app is running in the background. You can revoke location permission at any time through your device settings, however this will prevent proximity notifications from functioning.
Crash Reporting
This app uses Sentry, a third-party crash reporting service, to help us identify and fix technical issues. In the event of an app crash or error, Sentry may automatically collect and transmit diagnostic information including:
- Device type and model
- Operating system version
- App version
- A stack trace describing where the error occurred
- Date and time of the crash
Sentry does not collect your name, email address, or location data. The information collected is used solely for diagnosing and resolving technical issues. Please refer to Sentry's Privacy Policy for further details on how this data is handled.
User Generated Content
Some apps built on the Visitour platform include a comment feature that allows users to leave feedback about Points of Interest. Comments you submit may include any personal information you choose to include in your message. User's cannot communicate directly and are restricted to a single comment per POI.
All comments are automatically moderated using the Perspective API, a service provided by Google. When you submit a comment, the text of that comment is sent to Google's Perspective API to assess whether it contains harmful, offensive, or inappropriate content. The following data is transmitted to Google as part of this process:
- The text content of your comment
- Your device's Internet Protocol (IP) address
Comments identified as potentially harmful may be automatically flagged or rejected before being published. We do not store rejected comments. Approved comments may be visible to other users of the same app.
Please refer to Google's API Services User Data Policy and the Perspective API documentation for further details on how this data is handled by Google.
Log Data
In the event of an error in the app, we may collect data and information (through third-party services) on your device, referred to as Log Data.
This Log Data may include:
- Your device’s Internet Protocol (IP) address
- Device name
- Operating system version
- App configuration at the time of use
- Date and time of use
- Other diagnostic statistics
